This is our 4x12 chicken tractor. It has a 4 ft x 4 ft enclosed area above the run with an open floor. It has 2 roosts and a nestbox with 3 bins that are accessed from the back. The run area is enclosed in 1/2 inch hardware cloth. This coop has easy access to all areas. The side of the enclosure opens for easy access to feed, the top of the run opens in case you need to catch chickens and there is a chicken door for free ranging.

Great plans
I purchased the plans in order to make a small mobile coop to acclimate chicks to the elements. These plans made everything super easy. I did find a minor typo on one of the steps, let Jim know about it and he replied promptly and sent me corrected plans right away. I also asked about the bins used in the nesting box and they sent me a link from where they purchased theirs and I was able to order the same bins. I plan on using these plans again with some minor tweaks to make a “rabbit tractor!” Great details and excellent communication.

Detailed plans
We purchased these plans after having FFF build two coops. I do have some carpentry skills, beyond beginner. These plans are very detailed and easy for a beginner to follow. His recommendations for materials will insure you end up with a quality coop. Mr. James is committed to continuing to improve his plans and very receptive to feedback. These plans are definitely a five star rating.
